Arvind Lexicon comes in many Editions, from the Free Edition which has only a small subset of words, through the Professional Edition to the Library Edition which is very comprehensive.

Users subscribe to these editions on a yearly basis.

Shortcut Key: Alt + Shift + U.
Uncheck the Languages/Scripts you do not wish to display and click 'Set Languages'.

e.g. if you know Devnagari script well, you could uncheck the 'Roman Script' option. <

Shortcut Key: Alt + Shift + L.
If checked, Roman Transliteration is shown before Devnagari script for Hindi Words.

The transliteration scheme used is a newly devised intuitive method where:

Capital vowels denote the longer vowel sound
and
Capital consonants denote the harder consonant sound

Shortcut Key: Alt + Shift + F.
If checked, the opposite language is shown first to assist translators.

If a word is searched for in English, the Hindi synonyms will be displayed before the English ones and vice versa. <

The Rapid Dictionary allows you to explore Words Alphabetically.

The Word itself is first shown

Under the Word are shown all the Contexts (Entries) for the Word

Click on any Context/Entry to view its Synonyms

Shortcut Key: Alt + Shift + Y.
Thematic Navigation

Thematic Navigation allows you to explore Words hierarchically.

Words are grouped according to natural association into Headings and further into Entries for each heading

Click on any Heading to load Entries classfied under that Heading. The first Entry is automatically selected.

Click on any Entry to view its Synonyms

Visual Thesaurus Usage Hints

The Visual Thesaurus gives you a graphical bird's eye view of the associations of any word.

Show/Hide the Visual Thesaurus, by checking/unchecking the box "Visual Thesaurus".

Enlarge/Reduce the Graph to/from Full Screen by checking/uncheking "Zoom Graph".

View associations for any related word by clicking on it.

Center on a group of words by clicking on the Group (box with thicker borders).

Zoom in and out on displayed elements with the middle mouse wheel.

Go Back in the Zoomed View by clicking on 'Go Back'.

Pan the graph by clicking and dragging on an empty area of the graph.

Print the graph by first Enlarging it to Full Screen and then clicking on Print.
